Liverpool in 2006/08

Liverpool's 2006-07 season was their 115th in existence and 45th consecutive year in the top-flight. Having finished third the previous season, they entered the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round and beat Maccabi Haifa 3-2 on aggregate. They won the Community Shield 2-1 against Chelsea at the Millennium Stadium. Liverpool knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League in the round of 16 on away goals after Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise scored at the Camp Nou, then eliminated PSV in the quarter-finals with a 4-0 aggregate victory.
