How to measure

Lay the shirt flat and measure pit to pit (armpit to armpit) and collar to hem, then compare with the table. Between sizes, take the larger. Measurements are in centimetres, with 1–2 cm variation between pieces.

The history is compressed into a remarkable stretch. Readmitted to international football in 1992 after decades of apartheid-era isolation, South Africa won the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil in 1996 at their first attempt, then hosted the first World Cup on African soil in 2010 — opened by Siphiwe Tshabalala’s goal against Mexico. The World Cup debut came in between, at France 98, where Benni McCarthy scored the country’s first World Cup goal in the draw with Denmark — which is what the 1998 shirts in this range are from. Printing adds one to two working days before dispatch, and printed shirts cannot be returned unless faulty — if unsure of the size, order it plain and we print it afterwards for the same price. How does kids sizing work?

Kids sizes run 16 to 28 and are chest width in inches rather than age. The chart above maps each size to an age as a rough guide; measuring a shirt that currently fits is more reliable.

Can I get a name and number printed on it?
